Community Adjudication Board

Comprised of undergraduate and graduate students, the Community Adjudication Board (CAB) serves as the student panel within the University conduct system. CAB was organized to provide students with the opportunity to serve in a leadership role that allows them to serve the University through the resolution of cases involving alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct.

The Code of Student Conduct establishes the behavioral expectations for the University community and is important for maintaining the safety and well-being of the Mason nation. CAB receives guidance and information throughout the resolution process from a board advisor from the Office of Student Conduct.

The CAB retains the responsibility and the authority to:

  • Resolve allegations of misconduct
  • Determine whether, based on a preponderance of the information, a student is responsible for a violation of the Code of Student Conduct 2023-2024, which includes the University Drug and Alcohol policies and the Resident Student Handbook
  • Recommend disciplinary, educational, and/or corrective sanctions for students found responsible

CAB receives guidance and information throughout the resolution process from a board advisor from the Office of Student Conduct.
